Let's Talk About SEX- Interview With Andrew Katsinas, LMFT | Episode 07

Welcome back to Couch Time and thank you for joining us today for a special interview session with fellow clinician, Andrew Katsinas, LMFT. With a background in film and media, Andrew has come to appreciate the creative processes in healing and has brought that along with his spunky sense of humor to create a modern-day spin on telehealth therapy.

Not only does Andrew own his own private practice, but he also has training in AASECT Sex Therapy with a goal of breaking down the barriers and taboo behind the “forbidden” topic. His calling has led him to work with those who seek help with relationships, intimacy, and sex while specializing in issues involving sexual dysfunction, the LGBTQIA+ community, and sexual trauma.

Additionally, in this episode Andrew helps us take a closer look into these specialties and we cover some important information for individuals who are just starting out on their road to licensure.

3 Tips for pre-licensed therapists

-       The invaluable networking and connections made with other therapists will travel with you as you progress in the field. You never know when you may need to call on fellow clinician.

-       Don’t be afraid to reach out to speakers you meet in your pre-licensed arena. This is your chance to learn more about specialties that may spike your interest.

-       Practice what you preach and that includes your own self-care. If you aren’t at your best and doing internal work, you won’t be able to assist other in living up to their best selves.
